  • How do I post an ad?
  • Posting an ad on oneshot.lk is quick and easy! Simply click the yellow Post your Ad button and follow the instructions.

    If you are not already logged in, you will need to log in as the first step of posting your ad.

    Your ad will go live once it has been reviewed (this usually takes less than 1 hour during office hours).

  • How do I delete my ad?
  • To delete an ad, please go to your ad's listing page and click on the "Delete ad" option.

    Tip: you can find your ad easily by logging in to your account and visiting your "ads listing" page!

  • How do I edit my ad?
  • To edit an ad, please go to your ad's listing page and click on the "Edit ad" option.

    Tip: you can find your ad easily by logging in to your account and visiting your "ads listing" page!
  • How do I set a new password on oneshot.lk?
  • To set a new oneshot.lk password, please log in to your account, go to the "My account" page and use change password option.

    If you have forgotten your oneshot.lk password, you can:

    Go to the log-in page and click on the "Forgot your password?" link Click post your ad ", and click on the "Forgot your password?" link. If you have created an account via Facebook, you will not have an oneshot.lk password. You can log in to your account via Facebook without a password.
  • How long do ads stay on oneshot.lk?
  • Ads appear for 60 days, unless you delete them earlier.

  • I posted an ad but can't find it. What's wrong?
  • Tip: you can keep track of your ads easily by logging in to your account and visiting "My listing" page!

    Your ad may not be live due to one of the following reasons:
    • It is still under review - this will show on your My listing page, under “Ads under review”
    • It may have violated our posting rules - if your ad needs to be edited before it can be published, this will show on your My listing page, under “Ads that need editing”
    • You have used up your free ad allowance

    If you have been waiting longer than 24 hours for a response from us, you may have given us the wrong contact details when you posted the ad. Try posting again or contact us.

  • Why has my ad been rejected?
  • All of the ads are manually reviewed - if your ad violates our posting rules it will be rejected. You can read what changes you have to make before the ad can be approved in the rejection email.

  • I'm getting contacted about an ad I didn't post. Can you help me?
  • Of course. Please contact us and we are glad to help you right away.

  • I haven't received any responses to my ad. What's wrong?
  • If you are not receiving responses to our ads, we recommend taking a look at our tips on how to sell fast.

  • How does oneshot.lk make money?
  • oneshot.lk offers paid features and services that help people promote their ads, facilitate the sales of advertised items, and give businesses a bigger online presence.

    These currently include ad promotions.

  • What are the rules for posting on oneshot.lk?
  • We don't allow ads that contain:

    • an item or service that is illegal in Sri Lanka
    • an item or service that is not located in Sri Lanka
    • an invalid phone number or email address
    • an unrealistic offer
    • offensive language
    • offensive pictures
    • offensive to community
    • If pictures contain water marks
    • text in the title or description that is not related to the advertised item or service
    • pictures that do not match or clearly show the advertised item or service
    • a non-specific item or service, e.g. a description of a company in general terms
    • a URL link that is not relevant to the advertised item or service offers and requests for items or services in the same ad
    • the same content as another live ad, or the same content as another ad that was posted within the last 48 hours
    • multiple items in the same ad, unless it is a package deal
    • “work from home" jobs
  • How do I sign up for a user account on oneshot.lk?
  • Signing up for an account on oneshot.lk is quick, easy and completely free! To sign up on oneshot.lk, please go to the Sign up page and follow the instructions. You can sign up with an email address or through your Facebook account.

  • How do I log in and log out of my account?
  • Signing up for an account on oneshot.lk is quick, easy and completely free! To sign up on oneshot.lk, please go to the Sign up page and follow the instructions. You can sign up with an email address or through your Facebook account.

    Once you have signed up, a link will be sent to your email with instructions on how to verify your email address.

  • How do I change my account details?
  • To change the details on your account, log in to your account and go to your account's page.

  • Why can't I log in to my account?
  • If you are having trouble logging in to your account, please check that you have:

  • What is my posting allowance?
  • Every month you can post a few ads for free in most categories on oneshot.lk. Once you have used up your posting allowance for the month, you can either set up a Membership in order to post more ads, pay each ad and post ads or wait until the first day of the next month when your allowance gets reset.

  • What is "Premium Ad"?
  • To learn all about Premium Ads, please visit our Promote your ad page. You can also click "Learn more" under the Premium Ad option after you click the "Make Premium Ad" option on your ad.

  • Why is my ad not showing as a Premium Ad?
  • If you don't see your Premium Ad right away, it means that there are more Premium Ads available than there are number of Premium Ad spots. In this case, each Premium Ad is given an equal chance of being displayed.

    To see your Premium Ad in action, you can try the following:

    • Go to the category and location that you posted the ad in and select any relevant filters.
    • Click through to the next few pages, or refresh your page to browse different Premium Ads.
  • What is “Bump Up for 7 days”?
  • To learn all about Bump Up, please visit our Promote your ad page. You can also click "Learn more" under the Bump Up option after you click the "Make Bump up" option on your ad.

  • How do I get a Brand Profile page for my business?
  • Brand Profile pages are included in all of our Membership packages, so setting up a Membership automatically allows you to customize your very own Brand Profile page.

  • How do I buy a voucher?
  • To purchase a voucher, please click the "Make premium ad" or “Make bump up” button on your ad and follow the instruction on "How to buy voucher".

  • How do vouchers work?
  • Your voucher can be used to buy any Premium Ad or Bump Up as long as the balance remaining covers the price of the promotion.

    If your balance is too low to buy a Premium Ad or Bump Up, please contact us to transfer the remaining balance and top it up, or use another voucher that has enough balance remaining.

    Please note that vouchers are non-refundable and cannot be redeemed for cash.

  • How do I read Sinhala and Tamil text?
  • oneshot.lk uses Unicode to display Sinhala and Tamil text. If you are using Windows XP or an earlier version, you may need to set up Unicode support in order to view our Sinhala or Tamil site.

    Step 1: Get Sinhala / Tamil Unicode support

    Step 2: Add Sinhala / Tamil fonts

    Download Sinhala fonts from here, then copy the font files to your system's "Font" directory. Tamil font is pre-installed in Windows XP and later versions.

  • How do I write in Sinhala or Tamil?
  • There are a few methods you can use to type in Sinhala and Tamil:

    Follow the instructions in the appropriate user guide provided here for Sinhala and here for Tamil Download Google Input Tools Use an online keyboard, such as Google Transliteration for Sinhala or Google Transliteration for Tamil, and then copy-paste the text over to oneshot.lk For some mobile phone users, it may be possible to obtain a Sinhala or Tamil keyboard through a smartphone app.
